Some questions/answers about New Orleans:

Does it really take hours for the cruise ship to make it to the Gulf of Mexico? Well, yes. It is about 100 miles as the fat duck floats. New Orleans to Gulf of Mexico

What is the new terminal like? It is like this (from a Nov, 2006 cruise): http://www.zydecocruiser.net/ncl_sun_2006/erato/erato_term.htm

The French Quarter and most other tourist attractions are fine and open and anxious for tourists. What's open? Here is one list:  http://www.nomenu.com/RestaurantsOpen.html

Drago's is a restaurant I like out in Fat City (not particularly near downtown). http://zydecocruiser.net/ncl_sun_2006/NewOrleans/dragos.htm  They have now opened a second restaurant at the Riverside Hilton which I intend to try. Stay tuned...

Mandina's in New Orleans has reopened and that is another one on my list. I haven't been to Mr. B's since it reopened. Tommy's Cuisine. And on and on. Too many restaurants and too little time. Sigh.
